Inmarsat-C: ricezione e decodifica SafetyNET

 

30/10/2018 - Come comunicato con largo anticipo da Inmarsat (www.inmarsat.com/support/i-3-to-i-4-services-migration/ ) il 30 ottobre è stata effettuata la migrazione dei servizi Inmarsat C, per la nostra area di ricezione ("Atlantic Ocean Region East"), dal satellite I-3 F2 al nuovo I-3 F5 ( I-3 to I-4 migration – Inmarsat C (Inm-C) service guide )

 

 

Il riposizionamento della mia piccola antenna patch da 15.5°W a 54°W di I-3 F5, con conseguente variazione sia dell'azimuth (249.1°-magn.: 247.1°) sia dell'elevazione (11.0°), non ha presentato particolari problemi grazie al piccolo supporto per smartphone che ho utilizzato. Il segnale ricevuto è sostanzialmente uguale a quello che ricevevo da I-3 F2:

 

   

 

02/09/2016 - Dopo aver illustrato, alla pagina www.iz1cqn.it/safetynet2.htm, le caratteristiche principali del servizio Safetynet Inmarsat, passiamo ora alla ricezione radio-dilettantistica del canale satellitare attraverso il quale vengono trasmessi i messaggi.

A Torino l'azimuth di 211.2° del satellite Inmarsat 3-F2 Atlantic Ocean Region AOR-E (uno dei quattro in orbita geostazionaria a circa 36.000 km dalla Terra), ha permesso la ricezione del flusso dati del canale NCS a 1541.450 MHz con l'antenna posizionata semplicemente davanti alle finestre del lato sud del mio QTH.

  

Nel dettaglio ho usato (oltre al pc): ricevitore sdr Airspy Mini, patch antenna RHCP, LNA-Low Noise Amplifier, SDRSharp, Virtual Audio Cable, per la ricezione e decodifica dei messaggi: EGC decoder e Inmarsat Stdc-decoder (versione registrata: sw che per stabilità e affidabilità nella decodifica preferisco rispetto al "windows like "EGC Decoder...).

Infine un estratto del log con alcuni MSI decodificati durante i primi test e salvati in automatico da Inmarsat Std-C decoder (file txt). A differenza delle stazioni Navtex, la copertura geografica assegnata ad ogni satellite permette la ricezioni di avvisi che riguardano anche aree marittime decisamente lontane... ma questa è la parte più interessante per chi, come me, ama  la navigazione... sulle onde radio e sul mare.
